About

An engineer's approach to data.

I'm Lorenzo Reale, an independent Power BI consultant. I trained as an aerospace engineer, then spent six years in London building enterprise reporting that operational teams and leadership relied on.

I did that work in large, highly regulated organisations, where every figure has to stand up to audit and scrutiny. Where many Power BI contractors stop at the report, I cover the whole chain, from the SQL underneath to the model and the dashboard on top, so every figure can be traced back to source and nothing gets lost between specialists.

I'm a British and Italian citizen, so I can work in the UK and the EU without visas or sponsorship. Most of my work is delivered remotely, with occasional on-site visits when a project needs them.

Approach

Good reporting starts long before the dashboard.

Most reporting problems aren't reporting problems. When operational numbers don't reconcile, the cause is usually upstream, in how the data was captured, modelled and moved, long before it ever reached Power BI.

I work with operational data, where the KPIs and the figures leadership acts on have to be defensible, not just presentable. I've built reporting in demanding, high-stakes environments, so I start at the data layer, not the chart.

That means semantic models that hold their logic, DAX you can audit, and a SQL foundation that won't quietly drift. The dashboard comes last, and it is only as trustworthy as what sits beneath it.

Services

Three layers, one dependable reporting stack.

From the SQL foundation to the dashboard and the automation around it, delivered as one piece of work or just where you need it.
